Itinerary
Our bus will pick up travelers from their hotels and take them to the town of Lares (approximately 3 hours). During the trip we will observe colorful landscapes and small Andean towns. Once they arrive in the city of Lares, we will head a few more minutes to the hot spring (3250 masl. / 10662ft), place where we will enjoy relaxing hot springs, temperature range from 28ºC / 82.51ºF to 34ºC / 93.20 ºC, in the pool. After lunch we will start hiking to Wacawasi (3,600 masl. / 11,810 feet) this hike will take around 3 hours, we are not going to have dinner and spend the night.
After breakfast, we will continue hiking this day, it will be more difficult, since we are going to go uphill for 4 hours, starting at 3600 meters above sea level. / 11,810 feet to the Ipsay pass (4,400 masl. / 14,435 feet), after a brief stop we will have lunch and then continue our trip, observing the small towns along the route, inhabited by farmers in the area, who despite the time even maintaining Andean customs, the practice of natural agriculture and the production of very colorful and colorful textiles. Then we will descend to the village of Patacancha (3800masl / 12467ft) where we will have dinner and camp in this place.
Early in the morning after breakfast, we will start walking down along the route we will visit some small Andean towns, such as Willoq (3600masl / 11810ft) very famous for preserving ancient customs and Pumamarca (3400masl / 11154ft) then we will walk for 4 hours we will arrive at Ollantaytambo (2850masl / 9350ft), an important town built in an Inka city, which has one of the most important archaeological sites in the sacred valley of the Incas and then have lunch. At 20:00 we will take the train to Aguas Calientes (2050masl / 6725ft), where we will spend the night in a hostel.
After early breakfast .we will take the bus to Machupicchu, the journey lasts 25 minutes, once in Machupicchu we will start visiting the most important places in Machupicchu with the tour guide for approximately 2 and a half hours, then you will have time to take photographs, explore or climb Waynapicchu mountain. After this time, we have to return to Aguas Calientes to have lunch and take the train back to Cusco.
